Travel Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Location
McAllen, TX | Labor & Delivery
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 12 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Rotating Weekends | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Labor & Delivery unit with 14 labor beds, 2 ORs, 6 recovery bays, and 8 antepartum beds
- Manage labor patients at a 1:2 ratio and antepartum patients at a 1:4 ratio
- Perform and assist with procedures including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, bilateral tubal ligations, D&C, uterine tamponade devices, and magnesium and Pitocin drip titration
- Operate GE Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) equipment and document using Meditech/Centricity Perinatal EMR
- Float to antepartum and postpartum (OB assignment only) as needed
- Maintain active NRP certification and demonstrate proficiency in labor management
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Intermittent EFM certification required
- Demonstrated proficiency in labor management
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Ability to circulate in the L&D OR
- Experience with GE Electronic Fetal Monitoring equipment
- Familiarity with Meditech and/or Centricity Perinatal EMR systems
