Job Title

Travel RN – Neuro CCU/ICU

Location

Indianapolis, IN | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend commitment (Friday/Saturday nights) | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed Neuro Critical Care unit serving patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, post-op craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurologic tumors
• Perform comprehensive and thorough neurological assessments on hemodynamically unstable and medically complex patients
• Manage and monitor mechanically ventilated patients in accordance with unit protocols
• Operate specialized equipment including Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV1000, and Neuroptics Pupillometer
• Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
• Float to other inpatient areas as needed when the home unit is at low census

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (or eligibility to practice in Indiana)
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Demonstrated experience caring for hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients
• Strong comprehensive and neurological assessment skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Pupillometer, External Ventricular Drain (EVD), and ICP waveform management
• Proficiency with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Prior experience with Epic EMR
• Team-oriented, positive, flexible, and empathetic approach to patient care
