Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:6 on a unit ranging from 20 to 34 beds
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and apply dysrhythmia knowledge in daily patient management
• Float to any Medical Surgical unit as needed — willingness to float is required
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse electronic health records system
• Adhere to unit dress code (personal scrubs of any color) and participate in an 8-hour non-billable orientation period
• Maintain availability to work during assigned holiday blocks, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year periods as scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of current Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
• Active Massachusetts RN License — must be on file at time of submission
• Active American Heart Association BLS — must be in hand at time of submission; facility will not pend certifications
• Active American Heart Association ACLS — must be in hand at time of submission; facility will not pend certifications
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification — must be in hand at time of submission; facility will not pend certifications
• Must have own reliable personal vehicle for this assignment
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Meditech Expanse electronic health records system highly preferred
• Background in a teaching hospital or large acute care environment
