Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating the nursing process, critical thinking, and consideration of patient culture, age, and developmental level
• Implement individualized patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice, including recognition and communication of changes in patient condition
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including coordination with case management and execution of discharge teaching
• Provide patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and processes in a clear and supportive manner
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of care provided by other team members
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous nursing experience in an ICU or similar acute care setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and clinical computer applications
