Registered Nurse – Orthopedic Clinic

Contract | Full-Time | Days | No call, weekends, or holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and clinical assessment of acute orthopedic injuries and chronic musculoskeletal conditions in an ambulatory clinic setting, serving a patient population ranging from 18 months to 100+ years
• Perform provider-ordered treatments and evaluations, including vital sign monitoring and documentation, injections per protocol, focused patient assessments and triage, and dressing changes
• Assist providers during in-office procedures and minor surgical interventions, maintaining sterile technique and ensuring patient safety
• Deliver pre- and post-procedure instructions to patients and families, reinforce treatment plans, and address questions to promote adherence and recovery
• Coordinate care by managing referrals, tracking diagnostic and therapeutic test results, assisting with follow-up scheduling, and facilitating insurance pre-certifications
• Float within the department, collaborating with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and athletic trainers to support efficient, patient-centered care delivery

Required Qualifications

• Current Nebraska RN license required
• Current CPR certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a specialty outpatient clinic setting
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to triage and prioritize a dynamic outpatient caseload

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous orthopedic or musculoskeletal specialty nursing experience strongly preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Experience in a rural or community hospital/clinic environment
