Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Psych ED)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3×12-hour shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (occasional 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM coverage as needed) | Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed | No Call

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Psych Emergency Department setting, serving patients of all ages
• Care for special populations including cancer, sepsis, medical emergencies, and behavioral health patients
• Support a facility with specialties including cath lab, women’s health, and stroke care, including STEMI and Stroke cases
• Float to other system campuses as needed
• Complete a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed) as part of onboarding requirements
• Complete unit-based orientation modules (non-billable, average 2–4 hours, completed during orientation)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• STEMI and Stroke facility experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; current driver’s license required to verify address
• No open background check cases permitted; third-party education verification required
• RTO requests must be submitted with the application — no post-submission RTO accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health emergency settings
• Familiarity with sepsis and oncology patient populations
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
