Job Title

Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Location

Utica, NY | Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Block scheduling may be available but is not guaranteed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate care nursing for adult patients (18+) across a 64-bed unit, including 15 designated Neuro beds
• Manage patients presenting with common diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory (COPD), DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV Stepdown, and post-operative conditions
• Operate and monitor specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo systems
• Care for patients on chronic ventilators (unable to wean), coordinating with Respiratory Therapy as needed
• Float to other units as required to support staffing needs
• Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License (verified via NURSYS report; all RN licenses must be included)
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in IMCU/PCU
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Completed skills checklist matching the IMC/PCU specialty
• Local candidates (within 75 miles) are welcome to apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in an IMCU or PCU setting
• Experience managing patients on chronic ventilators in coordination with Respiratory Therapy
• Familiarity with neurological patient populations and neuro-specific monitoring
