Surgical Technologist

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3×12-Hour Shifts | Onsite | Occasional night shift coverage may be required as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist in a variety of surgical cases including outpatient, orthopedic, neurosurgical, and vascular procedures
• Support inpatient and trauma cases as assigned
• Maintain sterile field and assist surgical team throughout operative procedures
• Participate in on-call rotation, including one weeknight per week and every 2nd or 3rd Saturday or Sunday from 0700–0700, with a 20-minute response time requirement
• Work 3 weekends per schedule and commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)
• Chart and document using Epic electronic health records system

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of surgical technologist experience required
• BLS certification required
• Valid state license required; compact license must be in hand at time of submission — pending state licenses are not accepted
• Experience in outpatient, orthopedic, neurosurgical, and vascular cases required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; post-submission RTO requests may not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with inpatient and trauma surgical cases
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• Prior experience in a short-term acute care or community hospital setting
