Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Pediatric

Contract | Nights | 4×12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hour contract options available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to pediatric medical-surgical patients in an acute care hospital setting operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
• Ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs as part of routine patient care activities
• Take call, work assigned weekends, and fulfill at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract period
• Float as needed within the organization, including serving as a Patient Observer (Sitter) as assigned
• Complete required onboarding modules (non-billable, averaging 4–6 hours) during orientation and annually as required by specialty
• Document patient care using Cerner (preferred charting system)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or a Compact state — must be in hand at time of start
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Ability to work the substantial portion of the assigned shift and remain at the assigned facility for the full term of the contract
• Local candidates are welcome to apply; travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible to submit

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
• Comfort working in a fast-paced pediatric environment with rotating shifts and exposure to patients with contagious illnesses
• Flexibility to float across units, including ICU, PCU, and Medical-Surgical settings
