Job Title

Sterile Processing Technician

Location

Los Angeles, CA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (5x8s)

Key Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, processes, and sterilizes surgical and hospital instruments, trays, and basins using appropriate exposure and dry times
• Assembles surgical instrument sets, compiles counts, and records instrument counts accurately
• Performs daily diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment, including test packs, biological indicators, and diagnostic cycles for endoscope processors
• Evaluates instruments for function and safety during reprocessing, including identification and tracking of loaner instruments
• Provides reprocessing services for ancillary departments including Emergency Room, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Radiology
• Maintains a clean and orderly department environment and assists with operating room support duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Sterile Processing Technician Certification required
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of two years of recent sterile processing experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Associate’s degree or technical degree in a related field
• Experience providing reprocessing services in a perioperative or multi-department hospital setting
• Familiarity with endoscope reprocessing and biological incubator maintenance
