Job Title

LVN / LPN – Medical Surgical (Travel Contract)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | No Call

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed Bariatric Medical/Surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform and manage IV starts, Foley catheter insertion and management, and nasogastric tube insertion and management
• Perform colostomy system exchanges and drain management including JP, Hemovac, and Wound Vac
• Administer tube feedings and provide wound care in accordance with Bariatric Standards of Care
• Operate unit equipment including Plum 360 IV Pumps, Covidien Kangaroo ePump, Kendall SCD, and suction devices
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR; adhere to clean narcotic administration practices

Required Qualifications

• Active LVN / LPN license valid for practice in Texas
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an LVN/LPN in a Medical/Surgical setting
• Demonstrated competency in IV starts, Foley insertion/management, NGT insertion/management, colostomy system exchange, and drain management
• 4-weekend shift commitment required for the duration of the assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Chest tube management experience
• Port-a-Cath access and de-access competency
• Experience in a Bariatric Medical/Surgical care environment
• Strong team-player mindset with a demonstrated sense of accountability
