Registered Nurse – ICU (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Apply clinical judgment to assess, diagnose, and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions in an intensive care setting
• Provide specialized nursing care for cardiovascular patients, including those recovering from open heart surgery and procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, and MitraClip
• Monitor and manage patients with congestive heart failure, electrophysiology conditions, and complex cardiac diagnoses
• Interpret EKG findings and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
• Float to similar units as needed, including Neuro, CVICU, or Trauma
• Document patient care accurately using the facility’s EMR system; Cerner experience is beneficial

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of direct ICU experience (float experience does not qualify)
• EKG experience required
• Willingness to float to similar units required
• Active Michigan RN License required; LARA and Nursys verification required
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application required
• Must live more than 35 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard travel rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in Neuro, CVICU, or Trauma settings
• Ventilator management experience
• Experience with CRRT and intra-aortic balloon pumps
