Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Intermediate Care Unit)

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit managing diagnoses including chest pain, rule-out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer, and pre/post cardiac catheterization patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips independently; unit utilizes Nihon Kohden tele monitors with Tele Tech support
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Manage radial bands and perform groin checks post-cath; does not include pulling sheaths
• Collaborate with in-house Hospitalist, Intensivist, Respiratory Therapy, IV Team, and Pharmacy — all available 24/7
• Float as needed to Telemetry or Med-Surg units, with ratios up to 1:6 (occasionally 1:7 in Med-Surg)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license; any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Proficiency titrating drips in an intermediate care or step-down setting
• Flexibility to work weekend night shifts (expected 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule) and holidays as needed
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; a copy of an unexpired driver’s license is required with all submissions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an IMC, PCU, or Step-Down unit with intermediate care acuity patients
• Familiarity with Sunrise EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Experience managing patients on Tikosyn therapy
• Comfort working with high-flow oxygen delivery (AirVo) and BiPAP (Respironics) in coordination with Respiratory Therapy
