Job Title

Certified Surgical Technologist – CVOR (Travel Contract)

Location

San Antonio, TX | Acute Care – Cardiovascular Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Rotating Weekends | On-Call Required | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures including coronary artery bypass, surgical valve replacements, TAVR, ventricular assist devices, and thoracic/lung procedures
• Support adult and pediatric heart transplant procedures within the CVOR setting
• Maintain 3–4 patient assignments and assist with admission holds as directed
• Document patient care activities accurately using the Meditech documentation system
• Float to other units as needed in accordance with facility floating policy
• Adhere to facility dress code, attendance, and unit-specific policies including the Methodist Acknowledgement Form requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required — TX Certified; no First Assist roles
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of hospital/specialty experience in a surgical or cardiovascular OR setting
• Demonstrated cardiovascular/heart surgery experience (candidates without this will not be considered)
• Heart transplant experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Pediatric heart surgery experience
• Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) experience
• Cell saver and peripheral vascular experience
• Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
