Sterile Processing Technician

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift | 5×8-Hour Shifts | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Rotating weekends and holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination and disinfection procedures using automated endoscope reprocessors, chemical agents, high-level disinfection, manual cleaning, ultrasonic cleaners, and washers/sterilizers
- Prepare instrument trays including proper labeling, selection of wrapping materials, and sterilization wrapping procedures
- Process flexible scopes including bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, cystoscopes, EGD scopes, and TEE probes
- Process broad specialty instruments across cardiac, endoscopy, general surgery, robotics, neuro, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, orthopedics/total joints, trauma, transplant, urology, and vascular services
- Conduct sterilization testing and monitoring using biological and chemical indicators, immediate-use steam sterilization, steam sterilization, Steris, and Sterrad
- Support CVOR, Operating Room, and other surgical services within the sterile processing department
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Sterile Processing experience required
- Valid state license or certification required at time of submission
- Experience with endoscope and scope/probe reprocessing required
- PA Fingerprints required; must be completed within one week of contract signing
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Acute hospital Operating Room experience preferred
- Level I and Level II trauma experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Censitrac and equipment documentation experience preferred
