CVOR Surgical Technologist

Contract | Days | 4×10-Hour Shifts (5:30 AM – 4:00 PM) | On-Call Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub into cardiovascular, general, and neuro surgical cases across a 12-OR suite serving adult, adolescent, and geriatric patient populations
• Fulfill on-call obligations, including approximately 2–3 call shifts per week and at least one weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday, 24-hour coverage)
• Provide scrub technologist support during operative procedures, ensuring proper instrumentation, sterile field maintenance, and case readiness
• Document and chart accurately using Cerner EMR
• Adhere to all facility compliance, safety, and infection control standards, including a strict nicotine-free policy — candidates must be nicotine-free; a positive nicotine screen will result in cancellation
• Availability to work during designated holiday periods, including Christmas week, is required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of CVOR or surgical technologist experience; first-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Active national certification required: NBSTSA (CST) or TS-C — NCCT certification is not accepted
• Active BLS certification required
• Active Maryland state license or Compact license must be in hand at time of submission — pending licenses are not accepted
• Demonstrated scrub experience is required
• Must be available for on-call shifts and weekend coverage as outlined above
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiovascular surgical case experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR charting system
• Experience in a high-volume acute care operating room environment
