Job Title

Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Critical Care (CVICU / CTICU)

Utica, NY | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in a Cardiothoracic ICU setting
• Manage and monitor patients with complex cardiovascular diagnoses including CV surgery, cardiogenic shock, and AAA
• Care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including fresh open-heart surgery cases
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using EPIC
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiothoracic or Cardiovascular ICU setting
• Experience with fresh open-heart surgery patients is required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency in EPIC EMR is required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate; candidates within 75 miles may be considered as local candidates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing patients with cardiogenic shock or aortic aneurysm repair
• Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and advanced cardiac life support interventions
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills in a fast-paced ICU environment
