Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 3×12 or 4×12 shifts available | Every other weekend, floating, and holidays within the contract are required | Travelers are expected to work two of the three winter holidays | Overtime may be available for 4×12 schedules after 48 hours
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a high-volume post-surgical unit serving urology and GYN surgical populations
- Manage a typical patient ratio of 1:7 in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms including sinus rhythms, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial rhythms, junctional rhythms, and pacing
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support post-surgical patient recovery and discharge planning
- Document all patient care accurately using Epic EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
- Minimum of two years of recent, relevant RN experience
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in Epic EMR — no exceptions
- Must pass a telemetry/EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to start; one attempt is given with no remediation available
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; address verification required prior to offer acceptance
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Experience in post-surgical, urology, or GYN patient populations
- Strong telemetry interpretation skills including interval measurements and complex rhythm identification
