Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Contract | Nights | Every Other Weekend | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, 65-bed pod-based Emergency Department serving approximately 230 visits per day, including a dedicated pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area
• Perform general ED nursing skills including assessment, documentation, IV placement, phlebotomy, EKG interpretation, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, and splinting
• Maintain a 1:4 clinician-to-patient ratio across an all-population patient base
• Chart using EPIC – ASAP EMR system
• Float as needed to the ED Observation wing (16 beds) and the Acute Mental Health Unit (ED Psych Observation)
• Participate in occasional day-shift rotation (7a–7p, 11a–11p) when requested; rotation frequency is low and the primary night position does not rotate

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• AHA-certified BLS required
• ACLS required
• PALS required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification strongly preferred
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification strongly preferred
• Prior experience with EPIC – ASAP charting system
• Experience in a high-volume or pod-based Emergency Department setting
