Job Title

Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend and holiday rotation | Projected Start: October 19, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Perform IV starts, nasogastric tube placement, wound care, and lab draws
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, including management of heparin drips and telemetry
• Operate unit equipment including wound vacs, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanners, and feeding pumps
• Document patient care using the Editech documentation system
• Float between assigned units as needed per unit floating policy; deliver positive patient and family experience, performing service recovery and escalating concerns through the chain of command

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Tennessee or a compact state
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Proficiency in IV starts, NGT placement, wound care, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Ability to adhere to dress code: navy scrubs required; no fleece or sweatshirts

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Editech or similar electronic documentation systems
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and heparin drip management
• Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, patient-centered approach
