Job Title

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Mid Shift | Expected schedule includes every other weekend and some holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Perform majority of patient care functions in an acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision
• Greet patients, direct to exam rooms, prepare for exam, and provide routine assistance during exams including setting up trays for injections and recording vital signs
• Place IVs and perform phlebotomy as required
• Administer injections and assist with procedures such as paps and other clinical tasks
• Implement nursing care activities under the direction of the primary or associate nurse as outlined in the nursing care plan; observe and report patient responses to treatments
• Assist with general office duties including appointment scheduling, chart preparation, obtaining insurance authorizations, and coordinating referrals with primary care physicians

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State LPN license
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
• Emergency Department (ED) experience required
• CPR certification (or ability to obtain/renew certification)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, family members, and members of the healthcare team

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an inpatient setting
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
