Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Transplant)

Contract | Days | 3×12-Hour Shifts | 11:00–23:30 | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scrub and/or circulating duties in a high-volume transplant operating room, with primary focus on liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant cases
• Provide direct intraoperative care for organ implantation procedures — experience placing organs into the recipient patient is required, not solely organ harvesting
• Utilize MISONIX/CUSA equipment proficiently during surgical cases
• Cover additional OR cases (non-transplant) when liver/transplant cases are not scheduled
• Participate in on-call coverage, including approximately one on-call shift per week and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs as required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (pending license considered)
• Minimum 2 years of direct liver/transplant OR RN experience — must be reflected on skills checklist at time of submission
• Strong hands-on experience with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures
• AHA or American Red Cross ACLS and BLS certifications required at time of submission
• NIHSS certification required prior to start date
• Must be nicotine-free; negative 10-panel drug screen including cotinine (nicotine) required — no exceptions
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application; requests added after submission may not be approved
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience charting in EPIC
• Background in a teaching hospital or high-acuity acute care environment
• Familiarity with EKG interpretation and pharmacology testing (required during orientation)
