Job Title

Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Contract | Nights | Every Other Weekend | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, 65-bed, pod-based Emergency Department seeing approximately 230 visits per day, including a dedicated pediatric pod and a separate Acute Mental Health area
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, documentation, IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG interpretation, and cardiac monitoring
• Conduct point-of-care testing, splinting, and patient education while maintaining a 1:4 clinician-to-patient ratio
• Chart using EPIC – ASAP EMR system
• Float as needed to the ED Observation wing (16 beds) and the Acute Mental Health/ED Psych Observation unit
• Maintain AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS throughout the duration of the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or compact eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• Proficiency in general ED nursing skills: assessment, documentation, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification strongly preferred
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification strongly preferred
• Prior experience with EPIC – ASAP EMR
• Experience caring for pediatric and/or behavioral health patient populations in an emergency setting
