ED Boarder – Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shift (3×12 Day/Night Rotation – 4 weeks of each) or Straight Nights | Every Other Holiday, Every Other Weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical surgical nursing care to ED boarding patients throughout the emergency department
• Manage and monitor boarded patients awaiting inpatient placement in a fast-paced ED environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
• Adapt to rotating day and night shift schedules as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts or compact eligibility
• Medical Surgical nursing background required
• Experience supporting ED boarding or emergency department patient populations
• Ability to work rotating day/night shifts or straight nights as scheduled

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience
• Familiarity with high-volume, academic, or large hospital settings
• Strong adaptability and ability to function independently in a dynamic environment
