Job Title

Registered Nurse – Oncology

Location

Albany, GA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every other weekend required | Holidays rotate with staff

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed inpatient oncology unit, managing acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, medical overflow, and end-of-life care
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5, with occasional 1:6 assignments
• Utilize Meditech EMR for documentation and patient management
• Monitor patients via central telemetry system (strip reading not required)
• Receive and complete care for outpatient oncology patients transferred to the floor when the outpatient area closes
• Float rarely to medical acute unit as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required — no first-time travelers
• BLS certification required
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; documentation required at time of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification preferred
• ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) chemotherapy certification preferred for nurses wishing to administer chemotherapy; minimum 2 years of oncology experience required for chemo administration
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
• Experience caring for hematology and end-of-life patient populations
