Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Pediatric)

Saint Louis, MO | Children’s Acute Care Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3×12-Hour Shifts | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | On-call required: approximately 1 weekend per 6 weeks and 4–6 weekdays per 6-week period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care in a pediatric operating room setting, supporting surgical specialties including Neuro, Ortho, Plastics, Eyes, GU/GI, ENT, General, GYN, Spine, and Dental
• Participate in on-call rotations as assigned, including weekend and weekday call coverage
• Float within pediatric medical-surgical units as needed; may float to ICU in an RN Assist capacity
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a teaching hospital environment with an in-house team available 24/7

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (MO or compact license required; pending MO license submissions accepted — compact license must match permanent residence)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an Operating Room setting
• ACLS certification required (must be obtained by compliance deadline)
• No first-time travel nurses accepted for this role
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in pediatric surgical or perioperative nursing
• Familiarity with multiple surgical specialties (e.g., Neuro, Ortho, ENT, Plastics, GU/GI)
• Prior experience charting in EPIC
