Registered Nurse – CVICU (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Rotating Weekends | 13-Week Assignment | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting, supporting a wide range of complex cardiac cases
• Perform and interpret hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines
• Manage patients on mechanical ventilation, applying strong critical thinking to adjust care plans as needed
• Care for post-operative patients including post-CABG, post-VAD, and post-cardiac catheterization with various cardiac support devices (IABP, Impella, ECMO)
• Accurately document patient care and enter orders using the Meditech electronic health record system
• Float to other units as required in accordance with facility floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas RN License (Temporary licenses are not accepted)
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines) and ventilator management
• Must be trained on CVICU devices to support cardiovascular cases

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
• Exposure to Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Familiarity with Meditech charting and order entry
