Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Weekend and holiday rotation included

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for Emergency Room patients
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state practice acts
• Perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care; develop and execute individualized patient plans of care including patient and family instruction
• Document care according to established standards and participate in department performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Apply critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
• Participate in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities, and peer review

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• TNCC or TNS certification required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an Emergency Room or high-acuity clinical setting
• Familiarity with shared governance models and unit-based practice councils
