Travel RN – CVOR / Surgery

Contract | 13 Weeks | Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for cardiovascular (open-heart) cases in the CVOR, with the ability to support the general OR as needed
• Utilize the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided using EPIC
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License in the state of Texas or a compact state license
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum of two years of CVOR experience, including cardiovascular (open-heart) cases
• EPIC charting experience required
• Ability to support general OR cases as needed
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to offer

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience making appropriate assignments and delegating to other care providers in a clinical setting
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex or contingency-based clinical situations independently
