Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with multiple diagnoses, including swallowing disorders and speech-language impairments, within an inpatient rehabilitation setting
• Perform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) Studies utilizing available specialized equipment including Vital Stim, IOPI, EMST150, and Bioness BITs
• Manage a caseload with patient ratios of approximately 1:8–1:10 on a 44-bed inpatient rehab unit
• Collaborate as part of a small, team-oriented speech therapy staff on the day shift
• Assist with rotating weekend coverage, typically one shift per month
• Float to acute hospital areas as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia (VA) State License for Speech-Language Pathology
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with an adult population in a medical setting
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in neurological rehabilitation or neuro-related diagnoses
• Prior inpatient rehabilitation experience
• Patient-focused, team-oriented, and flexible work style
