Travel RN – CVICU (Nights)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 19-bed mixed CVICU/CVRU unit with a 1:2 or 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity
• Perform and assist with high-acuity procedures including IABP, Impella, LVAD care, hemodynamic monitoring, chest tube and pacer wire removal, and intubation/extubation
• Support frequent patient ambulation and post-cardiac surgical recovery care for a unit performing approximately 850 heart surgeries per year
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR and monitor patients via GE monitoring systems
• Float to other ICUs, stepdown units, or additional units as needed based on census and staffing
• Follow unit guidelines, including obtaining CNC guidance before performing procedures not previously performed at this facility; overtime requires CNC approval

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU or CVRU experience
• Strong critical care background with cardiac surgical or recovery room competency
• Ability to adhere to dress code: navy blue or white scrubs, nursing shoes, hair off shoulders, no artificial nails

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certification in Critical Care (CCRN), Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room care
• Experience with ECMO, Impella, IABP, and/or LVAD devices
• High-energy, team-oriented personality with a commitment to continuous learning and excellent patient care
