Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Night Shift | 3×12 or 4×12 Hours (18:45–07:15) | Every Other Weekend Coverage

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a focus on stroke/TIA patients and higher-acuity med-surg populations including adults and geriatrics
• Manage patients presenting with diagnoses such as stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
• Perform and support specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
• Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
• Maintain a strong focus on patient experience standards throughout all care interactions
• Float to other units and/or campuses as needed based on census and demonstrated competencies — floating is a requirement of this assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Tennessee RN license required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry or comparable unit
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible at full rate; candidates residing 90–99.9 miles away may be considered at a reduced rate; candidates under 90 miles are not eligible (night shift exception: must be 50+ miles from the contracted campus — 50–99.9 miles may be considered at a reduced rate; under 50 miles is ineligible)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for stroke and TIA patient populations
• Familiarity with peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation procedures
• Experience in high-acuity med-surg environments with complex, multi-diagnosis patient loads
