Job Title

Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating the nursing process, critical thinking, and consideration of patient culture, age, and developmental level
• Implement individualized patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice, including recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
• Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including timely execution of discharge orders and collaboration with Case Management
• Provide patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and processes clearly and compassionately
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of care provided by other team members
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on computer systems and clinical applications

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous nursing experience in an ICU or critical care setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
