Job Title

Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Neuro

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Expected two weekends (four shifts) per four-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Medical Surgical / Neuro unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Prioritize and manage care for med/surg and neurological patients, including ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Perform IV starts, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Utilize unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and SCD’s
• Document patient care using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Deliver attentive, compassionate, patient- and family-centered care including bedside shift report and collaborative care planning

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be valid for practice in Tennessee)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience
• Ability to float per unit policy; contract/travel staff are first to float on a rotation basis
• Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) required as dress code

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a neuro med/surg care setting
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• Experience working in a facility holding Comprehensive Stroke, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, or Certified Chest Pain Center designations
