Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Contract | Night Shift | Full-Time | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a general Medical Surgical unit with a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio on a 22-bed unit
• Administer and monitor IV drips, including Heparin, in accordance with facility protocols
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
• Float across multiple campuses as required by the facility
• Participate in charge or preceptor duties as assigned
• Work 1–2 of the upcoming Winter holidays unless the unit is closed

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license (must be active and verified in Nursys at time of submission)
• BLS certification through AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) — must be current
• Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical experience (must be reflected in work history/resume)
• Previous travel nursing experience within the past 18 months
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Discipline-specific Medical Surgical skills checklist required at submission
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver’s license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• De-escalation certification (MAB, MOAB, CPI, or SAMA) — highly preferred; may be obtained during onboarding
• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
• Telemetry/Tele experience
