Key Responsibilities
- Assist the surgeon and other members of the health care team during the intra-operative period, supporting positive patient outcomes across a neonate through geriatric patient population
- Demonstrate aseptic technique throughout all surgical duties
- Prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instrumentation and equipment in accordance with established standards
- Consistently perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy and procedure
- Recognize and respond appropriately during urgent or emergency situations
- Apply knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system, and aseptic technique in all patient and family interactions
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two (2) years of Surgical Tech experience
- BLS certification required
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required
