Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests and accurately report results to physicians for use in diagnosis, treatment, and/or monitoring of diseases
- Perform phlebotomy as a required component of the role
- Assist in the general operation of the laboratory, including quality assurance programs
- Maintain and support laboratory equipment upkeep
- Apply independent judgment and professional education in the execution of waived, moderate, and high complexity testing
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Medical Technology or a related area of specialty
- Certification/registration or certification/registry eligibility as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is required
- National certification through AMT or ASCP is required
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting performing a broad range of laboratory testing
- Experience with quality assurance programs and laboratory equipment maintenance
