Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 46-bed Medical Surgical unit, managing a variety of surgical cases (excluding orthopedic and spine)
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–1:6 during night shift hours
• Administer and monitor IV drips including amiodarone, diltiazem, heparin, dobutamine, and milrinone
• Operate and manage equipment including chest tubes, JP drains, 3-way Foley catheters, and nasogastric (NG) tubes
• Float across Med Surg units within the facility as needed
• Work 1–2 designated holidays as required unless the unit is closed

Required Qualifications

• At least 24 months of current Medical Surgical, Stepdown, or Progressive Care RN experience
• Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license (verified Active in Nursys at time of submission)
• BLS certification through AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) – must be current and active
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Demonstrated experience with drips: amiodarone, diltiazem, heparin, dobutamine, and milrinone
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
