Job Title

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Care Technician

Location

Syracuse, NY | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-hour shifts | Expected 6 shifts per two-week period | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform direct and indirect nursing care activities including obtaining vital signs, toileting, bathing, and feeding patients based on patient assignment
• Serve as a safety companion for patients identified as a safety risk
• Demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development and respond to changing patient needs
• Collaborate with all members of the healthcare team, problem-solve, and maintain a safe work environment
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, maintain positive public relations, and obtain, record, exchange, and convey patient information
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and make decisions guided by ethical principles

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State CNA Certification required
• Current BLS Certification required
• Minimum of one year of patient care experience
• Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
• Acute Care experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in an Emergency Department (ED) or Medical-Surgical (MS) setting
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong patient focus and excellent interpersonal communication skills
