Cardiovascular Surgical Tech

Contract | 13 Weeks | Rotating 8-Hour Variable Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare operative suites for cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases, including reviewing case carts to confirm all necessary supplies are available
• Scrub surgical cases across a variety of specialties, with a primary focus on cardiac and thoracic procedures; supporting approximately 50–60 cases per month
• Turn over operating rooms efficiently to support multiple procedures throughout the day
• Participate in on-call rotation: expected 1 night of call per week, 1 weekend per month, and 1 backup call per week; 30-minute response time required — must be ready and in the OR within 30 minutes; occasional additional mandated call may be required
• Float to other facility locations within the health system as needed
• Perform downtime tasks such as pulling case carts and cleaning to support overall unit operations

Required Qualifications

• Active CST license required — NBSTSA or NCCT certification accepted
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with thoracic robotic surgical procedures
• Proficiency with Epic electronic charting system
• Demonstrated ability to manage change, work independently during downtime, and maintain a strong work ethic in a fast-paced surgical environment
