Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests accurately and in a timely fashion following established guidelines and physician orders, reporting results in compliance with documented laboratory procedures
• Perform, record, and analyze QC data to make judgments concerning results and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision
• Recognize and troubleshoot malfunctions of advanced technological equipment and initiate corrective action
• Operate instruments using established protocols and quality control checks; perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instruments
• Identify and resolve problems that may adversely affect test analyses and document corrective actions when test systems deviate from acceptable guidelines
• Evaluate new testing methodology and contribute to writing technical laboratory procedures

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Medical Technology, a related science field, or equivalent experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and regulated environment
• Demonstrated analytical skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certification by ASCP or AMT preferred
• Knowledge of all areas of the laboratory
• Familiarity with computerized document systems
• Ability to mentor, train, and motivate team members
