Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute professional and clinical knowledge as a member of the interdisciplinary care team in the provision and management of patient care on a Medical Surgical unit
• Provide safe and effective nursing care to medical surgical patients, including those with neurological and post-surgical needs
• Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and patient management
• May be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses
• Participate in holiday coverage, with an expectation to work 1–2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license (or compact license eligibility)
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience required
• Comfort working with neurological and surgical patient populations within a medical surgical setting
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Must have a taxable home address located at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates in the Madison area may be considered under a modified rate structure

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least one prior travel nursing contract completed
• Prior experience with EPIC EMR
• Familiarity with neuro patient care protocols in a medical surgical environment
