Job Title

Emergency Medical Technician – Emergency Room

Location

St. Louis Park, MN | Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 8-Week Assignment | Day/Evening Shifts | 12-Hour Shifts (0300–12hrs and 1500–12hrs) | Expected 36 hours/week | Weekends, holidays, and floating within the ER as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Perform 12-lead EKGs and room patients from triage
• Apply cardiac monitoring, obtain vital signs, and initiate oxygen as delegated
• Document direct patient care tasks and patient responses on an ongoing basis; communicate pertinent data clearly and timely to the RN
• Provide direct personal care including bathing, feeding, ambulation, transfer, and hygiene as delegated
• Observe and document patients in close observation, 1:1 status, and video monitoring
• Adhere to hospital and unit policies regarding patient safety, infection control, QI activities, emergencies, and EMTALA compliance; perform supply and linen stocking

Required Qualifications

• Active EMT National License or Minnesota EMT License required
• CPR certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an EMT
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Phlebotomy skills required
• New graduates are not eligible for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working in an emergency room or fast-paced acute care setting
• Familiarity with close observation and 1:1 patient monitoring protocols
