Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Contract | Night Shift | Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:4–5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for post-operative patients including those recovering from hip/knee procedures, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries
• Administer and monitor drips including PCA and Heparin
• Float across multiple campuses as required
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
• Expected to work 1–2 of the following Winter holidays unless the unit is closed: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• PCA and Heparin administration experience
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license at time of submission
• BLS certification from AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Post-operative surgical experience
• Patient care experience with hip/knee, mastectomy, and abdominal surgery populations
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
• Completed Medical Surgical or Medical Surgical/Telemetry-specific skills checklist
