Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary care nursing on a 14-bed Medical Surgical unit managing a 1:6 patient ratio for night shifts
• Care for patients with conditions including diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, DVTs, wound care, amputations, debridements, and post-surgical overflow
• Administer and monitor medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
• Collaborate with CNAs and support staff, including coverage to acute care, cardiology, and the emergency department for patient holds as needed
• Operate and monitor CPAP equipment; BiPAP monitoring on nights
• Uphold patient safety, satisfaction, and quality of care standards in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical experience in a high-acuity, larger hospital setting (no Critical Access Hospital experience)
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with dialysis patients and wound care in an acute care setting
• Background in high-volume, fast-paced environments with high patient turnover
