Job Title

Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Days | 4×10-hour shifts, varied start times (earliest 6:00 AM) | On-call required: approximately 8 shifts per month, rotating weekends and holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical or procedural sedation in the PACU setting
• Assist with pre-operative patient preparation and assessment
• Monitor and manage patient vitals, airway, pain levels, and recovery progress in accordance with clinical protocols
• Participate in on-call rotation covering weekends and holidays as required
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe and timely patient transitions

Required Qualifications

• Active Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PACU and Pre-Op experience
• New graduates are not eligible for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience
• Familiarity with varied surgical specialties and anesthesia recovery protocols
