Key Responsibilities
- Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI), patient safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance activities across multiple healthcare settings.
- Provide oversight for quality-related functions including Infection Prevention, Case Management, Utilization Review, Social Services, and Employee Health programs.
- Maintain organizational readiness for CMS, The Joint Commission, state regulatory agencies, and other applicable accreditation and licensing requirements.
- Monitor quality and patient-safety indicators, identify trends, and develop action plans; lead root cause analyses and corrective action initiatives.
- Develop and present quality dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports to leadership and governing bodies.
- Collaborate with medical staff on quality review activities, including OPPE/FPPE, and provide education to leaders and staff on quality, safety, and accreditation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN license or ability to obtain appropriate state licensure.
- Minimum of two years of professional nursing experience, preferably within an acute-care hospital setting.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare quality, patient safety, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards.
- Experience working with CMS and The Joint Commission requirements.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Master’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
- Previous hospital Quality Management or Quality Services leadership experience.
- CPHQ or comparable healthcare quality certification.
- Experience leading regulatory surveys, QAPI initiatives, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
