L&D OB Technician

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 3×12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM | On-call required as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of patient rooms, including opening sterile supplies, setting up for procedures using aseptic technique, and verifying integrity of sterile packaging
• Support the surgical team during operative procedures — including cesarean section cases — by providing needed supplies and instruments in a timely manner and participating in the surgical timeout
• Assist nursing staff during vaginal deliveries, including patient preparation, positioning, transport, transfer, and discharge
• Collect urinalysis specimens; take and record maternal vital signs, weight, height, and intake & output measurements
• Perform general unit tasks including room turnover, stocking supplies, assembling charts, answering phones and call lights, and updating census logs
• Provide personal care services and assist patients with activities of daily living as directed

Required Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required
• Scrub experience required
• Cesarean section (C-section) experience required
• Vaginal delivery experience required
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Associate’s degree or technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
• Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification
• Prior experience in an OB-specific setting
