Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) – Day

Key Responsibilities

• Render direct patient care as part of the perioperative role by functioning as a first assistant to the surgeon
• Practice an expanded role of perioperative nursing, applying knowledge, skills, and judgment acquired through organized instruction and supervised practice
• Assist the surgeon in the Operating Room and Labor and Delivery Suite under surgeon supervision
• Complete credentialing through the facility’s Medical Staff office prior to start (minimum 6–8 week processing time expected)

Required Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification required
• Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
• Current CPR certification required
• Current ACLS certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience functioning as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) in a surgical setting
• Familiarity with Labor and Delivery Suite surgical procedures and protocols
