Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3×12-hour shifts, 7:00am–7:30pm | Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Scheduling flexibility may include 4x12s and block weekend scheduling (Friday–Sunday).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an IMC/PCU/Stepdown setting, including support for a Thoracic Surgery unit.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, including identification of lethal arrhythmias and heart blocks.
• Care for oncology, cardiac, and stepdown/DOU/PCU patient populations.
• Manage patients requiring ventilator support and transplant care.
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements.
• Pass a required telemetry exam prior to start, meeting strict pass/fail criteria within allowable attempts.

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications – American Heart Association (AHA) only.
• Telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required.
• Ventilator and transplant experience required.
• Minimum of two years of inpatient acute care RN experience in the specialty within the last three years.
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Thoracic Surgery or high-acuity stepdown environment.
• Familiarity with complex cardiac rhythm interpretation, including third-degree heart blocks and lethal arrhythmias.
• Prior travel nursing experience in an acute care setting.
